About the role#
Honkamp, P.C. is looking for an Assurance Intern for the Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid internship based in Davenport, Iowa. You will work on-site and assist the team with audit, review, and compilation engagements. This role offers exposure to the public accounting industry and the chance to develop your technical skills while working with a variety of clients.
What you'll do#
- Assist with and complete tasks related to audit, review, and compilation engagements.
- Document your work and learn financial reporting requirements including US GAAP, FRF for SMEs, Tax, and Modified Cash basis.
- Build technical skills in US Generally Accepted Auditing Standards and Statements for Accounting and Review Services.
- Become familiar with department software, policies, and procedures.
- Support team members and contribute to office-wide initiatives.
- Assist with administrative functions and help maintain client relationships.
- Act as a representative for the firm at universities.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in an accounting-related field.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365.
- Ability to learn how to use standard office equipment.
- Capacity to work in a shared office environment.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
