Co-op Roadway Engineer

About the role#

HNTB is seeking a Co-op Roadway Engineer for the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 terms. This position involves performing basic engineering tasks that reflect elements of a standard post-secondary engineering curriculum. This is a paid, full-time, on-site opportunity.

What you'll do#

• Assist engineering teams with various project tasks and duties.
• Support the research, development, and design of roadway projects.
• Prepare engineering drawings and related documentation as assigned.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and organize information for project documents.
• Apply direction from peers and supervisors while developing an understanding of shop drawing and submittal procedures.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program (Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering).
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to organize technical information and perform basic calculations.
• Preference is given to candidates who have completed two years of their engineering program.
