About the role#
Hitachi Rail is hiring an intern to join the Onboard Software Developer team in Pittsburgh. This is a full-time, paid position for the summer of 2027. You will work on-site, gaining hands-on experience with signaling systems for metros and light rail.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design and programming of onboard software according to established specifications.
- Prepare project and design documentation.
- Help set up and test onboard software development systems.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current student at a 4-year university pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- Strong technical skills relevant to software development.
- Ability to multi-task and pay close attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
