About the role#
Fujitsu is seeking a Software Development Intern to join our team in Richardson, Texas. This is a full-time, paid internship focused on gaining hands-on experience with optical networking platforms and embedded software development. You will work alongside engineers on projects that contribute to the development of next-generation optical transport systems.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of software components for optical networking platforms.
- Participate in code reviews, team discussions, and agile development ceremonies.
- Support debugging and troubleshooting efforts across software and hardware interfaces.
- Contribute to documentation and automation tasks to improve development workflows.
- Learn and apply best practices in embedded systems and network software development.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with C/C++ programming.
- Experience working with or learning Linux-based development environments.
- Exposure to version control systems like Git and a basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
- Interest in networking technologies and embedded systems.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn in a collaborative team environment.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Go, or Rust is a plus.
