About the role#
This is a part-time internship for the Fall 2026 term. You will work with the Principal AI/ML Engineer to advance space simulation and support artificial intelligence development for the USSF customer. You will join a cross-functional team of AI engineers, modeling and simulation engineers, product owners, and program managers to develop AI models for space superiority analytics and multi-domain operations.
What you'll do#
- Build software from source for different platforms using various compilers.
- Develop artificial intelligence models as part of a larger pipeline.
- Participate in software design meetings and code reviews.
- Create acceptance, integration, and unit tests.
- Maintain issue backlogs and project boards.
- Write user and developer documentation.
- Provide updates for execution plans and status reports.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master's degree program, having completed a Bachelor's degree and more than 50% of your Master's credits.
- Academic background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
- A genuine interest in Space Operations.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- A willingness to learn new languages and tackle difficult problems.
