About the role#
This is an unpaid internship through the DoD SkillBridge Program, designed for transitioning active-duty U.S. military personnel during their final 180 days of service. You will train as an ACCCIT Master Tradesperson, working closely with a mentor and senior company leadership to gain real-world experience. The program aims to help you develop skills in problem-solving, design, fabrication, and testing, with the goal of transitioning into a full-time role.
What you'll do#
- Train on meaningful projects while reporting to a designated supervisor.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, including ventilation systems, duct heaters, TRV, 2PD, and associated equipment.
- Use test equipment and hand tools to locate and correct breakdowns.
- Read blueprints and research technical manuals.
- Learn to schedule, report, and brief customers and senior management on work progress.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Must be active-duty military within the final 180 days of service.
- Applications are accepted within 12 months of separation or retirement.
- Must hold an active Confidential security clearance or higher.
- Education and experience requirements are dependent on the specific program of instruction.
- Ability to meet physical requirements, which vary based on the program of instruction.
