About the role#
This internship takes place during the fall of 2026. You will support the Principal AI/ML Engineer to advance space simulation and AI development for the USSF customer. You will work with a cross-functional team of engineers, product owners, and program managers to build AI models that support space superiority analytics and multi-domain operations. This work contributes to force structure planning, training, and research for space systems.
What you'll do#
- Support the Principal AI/ML Engineer in daily tasks.
- Build software from source for various platforms using different compilers.
- Develop acceptance, integration, and unit tests for multiple technologies.
- Participate in software design meetings and code reviews.
- Perform issue backlog and board maintenance.
- Provide execution plan and status report inputs.
- Write user and developer documentation.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program, with at least 60% of required credits completed.
- Majors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
- An interest in Space Operations.
- Solid technical writing skills.
- A willingness to tackle difficult problems.
