About the role#
As a Cardiac Cath Technologist Intern, you will perform prescribed radiographic imaging procedures and assist providers during catheterization lab procedures. You will work at a technical level under the direct supervision of a technologist. This role requires independent judgment and initiative as you gain experience in a clinical setting.
What you'll do#
- Prepare for and assist physicians in catheterization lab procedures by using your knowledge of cardiovascular and peripheral vascular physiology, pathophysiology, and procedural techniques.
- Operate and troubleshoot equipment in collaboration with your preceptor, contacting support personnel when necessary.
- Monitor the effects of procedural activities, identify adverse reactions, and respond appropriately.
- Complete all required documentation for procedures, including image storage and archiving.
- Handle other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- High School diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment and good standing in a radiology technologist program.
- CPR certification.
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance.
