About the role#
The Cardiac Cath Technologist Intern assists providers during catheterization lab procedures under the direct supervision of a technologist. This role involves performing prescribed radiographic imaging procedures and requires the application of technical knowledge, independent judgment, and initiative.
What you'll do#
- Prepare for and assist physicians in catheterization lab procedures by applying knowledge of cardiovascular and peripheral vascular physiology, pathophysiology, and procedural techniques.
- Operate and troubleshoot equipment in collaboration with a preceptor and contact support personnel when necessary.
- Monitor the effects of procedural activities, identify adverse reactions or conditions, and respond appropriately.
- Complete all required documentation for procedures, including image storage and archiving.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- High School diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in good standing in a radiology technologist program.
- Active CPR certification.
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance.
