About the role#
HF Sinclair is seeking a Cybersecurity Intern for Summer 2027 in Dallas, Texas. This internship provides hands-on experience in Security Operations, Governance Risk and Compliance, and Project Management. You will help implement and manage capabilities that support the secure and resilient operations of the company.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Cyber GRC team with policy and document management.
- Support the Third-Party Cyber Risk Management Program through vendor assessments and monitoring.
- Aid in documenting cyber maturity assessments to inform enterprise strategy.
- Monitor security alerts from SIEM and other tools to identify threats.
- Assist with initial event and incident response under guidance.
- Review reported suspicious emails and support phishing response efforts.
- Help the Cybersecurity Project Manager collect and report on project status.
- Participate in special security assignments as directed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program for Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in the M365 suite of tools.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- A strong interest in technology and cybersecurity.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Dallas, Texas.
- No prior work experience is required, though exposure to AI, analytics, or programming is a plus.
