About the role#
Permian Resources offers paid summer internships for students to gain hands-on experience in the oil and gas industry. You will work on specific projects under the guidance of a manager and mentor. The program includes training, field tours, and networking opportunities. At the end of the term, you will deliver a presentation to showcase your work and experiences.
What you'll do#
- Assist with IT and technology functions including system support, scripting, and automation.
- Handle hardware and software configuration, troubleshooting, and technical documentation.
- Support application development, data management, AI-enabled workflows, and cybersecurity efforts.
- Provide end-user technical assistance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Sophomore through Graduate student in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
- Expected graduation in Spring or Fall 2029.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
- Availability for at least 12 continuous weeks starting in mid-to-late May 2027.
- Minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Coursework or experience with SQL and relational databases.
- Experience or exposure to Python for data analysis, automation, or scripting.
- Familiarity with IT concepts like networking, system administration, or cybersecurity.
- Exposure to AI tools, Large Language Models, or prompt engineering.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and communicate effectively.
