About the role#
As an Engineering Analytics Intern, you will work alongside refinery engineers, analysts, data scientists, and site teams to solve operational, reliability, and performance challenges. This role connects engineering fundamentals with modern digital tools to help operations teams make informed decisions. You will work on-site in an office setting.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate process and equipment data to identify trends, investigate issues, and support improvements in safety and efficiency.
- Develop calculations, analysis tools, and digital solutions to improve process performance.
- Audit and update existing condition monitoring tools used across the refinery fleet.
- Collaborate with operations, process engineering, reliability, controls, and digital teams to gather information and deliver recommendations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for monitoring, troubleshooting, and engineering workflows.
- Communicate technical findings in practical terms to engineering and operations audiences.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program for chemical, mechanical, electrical, industrial, or a related engineering field.
- Working proficiency in Excel and a willingness to learn other engineering analytics tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical, structured problem solving and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with Python or other tools used for engineering calculations and data analysis.
- Experience with modeling, simulation, statistics, or inferential calculations.
- Curiosity about AI-assisted analytics, prescriptive analytics, and digital transformation in industrial operations.
