About the role#
HF Sinclair is looking for a Safety Intern to join the team in Petrolia, Pennsylvania. This role supports the site safety team by organizing and maintaining safety documentation and digital resources. You will learn how safety systems, document management, and communication workflows contribute to a compliant safety culture.
What you'll do#
- Review, update, and organize safety procedures, work instructions, and controlled documents.
- Manage document versions, periodic reviews, and database maintenance.
- Maintain safety information systems, including SharePoint sites and document libraries.
- Conduct record audits and verify data accuracy for reports and presentations.
- Assist with industrial hygiene monitoring, such as air sampling, noise monitoring, and heat stress evaluations.
- Support personal protective equipment assessments.
- Participate in workplace safety audits, inspections, and follow-up activities.
- Assist with respiratory protection program tasks, including respirator fit testing.
- Support safety communications, training materials, and employee awareness initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, with preference for those who have completed junior level courses.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow document templates.
- Solid written communication and proofreading abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, specifically Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple documents and deadlines.
- Familiarity with OSHA terminology or basic safety concepts.
- Experience with controlled document systems, SharePoint metadata, or file taxonomy.
- Exposure to incident tracking systems or learning management systems.
