About the role#
As an Environmental Intern at HF Sinclair, you will support the Environmental Department with compliance activities and various projects. You will work under close supervision to gain hands-on experience in refinery environmental programs and operations.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate project assignments with environmental personnel and technicians.
- Research and analyze environmental and operating data, providing reports with recommendations for improvement.
- Oversee the entry of records and documentation regarding excess emissions and operating data.
- Perform technical and regulatory analysis, field sampling, testing, and report preparation.
- Manage a specific project related to an environmental matter.
- Assist the Environmental Manager with additional assigned duties.
What you'll need#
- Some completed courses toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or Engineering (completion of junior level courses is preferred).
- Basic knowledge of environmental concepts and EPA regulations.
- Ability to apply knowledge analytically and stay current with technological developments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and experience with statistical data analysis.
- Ability to satisfactorily complete a comprehensive medical physical examination.
Location & details#
- Location: Petrolia, PA.
- Work Modality: On-site at a petroleum refinery.
- Terms: Full-time, paid, rolling internship.
- Physical Requirements: This role involves working in a refinery environment with exposure to chemical, pressure, and electrical risks. You may be required to stand, walk, climb up to 200 feet, lift up to 50 pounds, work in confined spaces, and wear personal protective equipment, including a respirator.
