About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will work on fusion technology development at our Everett facility. This role provides direct ownership over hardware design and testing. You will contribute to our R&D efforts and help improve system performance for our next-generation machines.
What you'll do#
- Own and manage designs across subsystems, including electromagnetics, structures, fluids, thermal, and control systems.
- Study historical engineering approaches to design and test new hardware.
- Troubleshoot and fix hardware issues on integrated fusion generators.
- Use engineering first-principles and method-based thinking to solve technical problems.
- Work with our team of experts to expand your engineering skills and domain knowledge.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program for Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Graduation date of Winter 2027 or Spring 2028.
- A GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Hands-on experience with multiple engineering disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, or fluids.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software like NX or SolidWorks, along with knowledge of GD&T.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship located on-site in Everett, Washington.
- You must be able to work on-site for at least 12 consecutive weeks during the summer of 2027.
