About the role#
As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will contribute directly to the advancement of fusion technology. This role focuses on hands-on hardware development and testing. You will work alongside senior engineers to solve complex problems and gain experience in the development of fusion power systems.
What you'll do#
- Design and fabricate analog and digital electronic circuits, including op-amps and filter circuits.
- Perform PCB design and validation.
- Develop in-house data acquisition systems and electronic instruments.
- Execute qualification and testing plans for new or modified designs.
- Support senior engineers with design updates and documentation.
- Resolve hardware issues on integrated fusion generators.
- Apply engineering first-principles to design and test novel hardware solutions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Experience with board layout and circuit simulation tools like KiCAD, LT Spice, or Altium.
- Practical experience designing analog and digital circuits.
- Ability to apply engineering principles, including making design trades and communicating progress.
- Familiarity with electric and magnetic fields and the ability to safely work with high voltages, including AC and 1-10 KVDC power supplies.
Location & details#
- This role is located in Everett, Washington.
- You must be able to work full-time on-site for at least 12 consecutive weeks during the summer of 2027.
- This is a paid internship at a rate of $59 per hour.
