About the role#
Heidelberg Materials seeks a Mining Engineer Intern for our location in Jeffersonville, Indiana. This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling start date. You will work on-site, splitting your time between office tasks and active mining operations. We provide a summer housing allowance and opportunities for regional travel to other mining sites and cement operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist with mine planning, design, and optimization projects.
- Support data collection and analysis for production and safety improvements.
- Collaborate with operations teams on equipment and blasting efficiency.
- Participate in environmental and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and cost-reduction efforts.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mining Engineering or a related field, such as Civil Engineering.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to work in both field and office environments.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning and contributing.
