About the role#
The Pharmacy Student Intern works under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist at Methodist Hospital. This role supports patient care by preparing medications, managing supplies, and assisting with pharmacy operations in accordance with state and federal laws.
What you'll do#
- Provide customer service and prepare medications and supplies for patients, patient care areas, and ancillary departments.
- Assist the pharmacist in processing outpatient prescriptions, receiving and stocking inventory, and reordering supplies.
- Handle cash register transactions, prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds, and deliver medications.
- Check the work completed by pharmacy technicians if you are in your 2nd through 4th year of pharmacy school.
- Assist the Emergency Center Pharmacist with medication reconciliation and the Hospice Program Pharmacist with chart review if you are in your 3rd or 4th year of pharmacy school.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited professional pharmacy program.
- Registration with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Intern (first through fourth year).
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to meet Park Nicollet’s motor vehicle insurability requirements.
- Familiarity with office software and automated dispensing products is preferred.

- Schedule: One evening per week and every fourth weekend.
