Pharmacy Student Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Student Intern at Methodist Hospital, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to support pharmacy operations. This role focuses on providing high-quality care to patients, their families, and hospital departments. This is a part-time, on-site position with a schedule of one evening per week and every fourth weekend.

What you'll do#

• Provide customer service and prepare medications and supplies for patients, care areas, and ancillary departments.
• Assist pharmacists with the processing of outpatient prescriptions, including receiving, stocking, and reordering supplies.
• Handle cash register transactions and prepare both sterile and non-sterile compounds.
• Deliver medications and provide general assistance to the pharmacist as required.
• Supervise and check the work completed by pharmacy technicians (for students in their 2nd through 4th year).
• Assist the Emergency Center Pharmacist with medication reconciliation and the Hospice Program Pharmacist with chart reviews (for students in their 3rd or 4th year).

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited professional pharmacy program.
• Active registration with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Intern.
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to meet Park Nicollet’s motor vehicle insurability requirements.
• Familiarity with computer software programs and automated dispensing products is considered a plus.
