Pharmacy Student Intern

About the role#

The Pharmacy Student Intern works under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to support pharmacy operations. This role involves direct patient interaction, medication preparation, and assisting with clinical tasks in accordance with state and federal laws.

What you'll do#

• Provide customer service and prepare medications and supplies for patients, patient care areas, and ancillary departments.
• Assist the pharmacist with the processing of outpatient prescriptions.
• Receive, stock, and reorder medications and supplies.
• Handle cash register transactions.
• Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds.
• Assist the pharmacist as required.
• Students in their 2nd-4th year may check the work completed by pharmacy technicians.
• Students in their 3rd or 4th year may assist the Emergency Center Pharmacist with medication reconciliation and the Hospice Program Pharmacist with hospice chart review.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited professional pharmacy program.
• Registration with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern.
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to meet Park Nicollet’s motor vehicle insurability requirements.
• Familiarity with office software and automated dispensing products is considered a plus.

• Location: Saint Louis Park, Minnesota.
• Modality: On-site.
• Schedule: One evening per week and every third weekend.
