About the role#
HealthFitness is offering an internship opportunity for students to complete their university requirements at a client site in Indianapolis. This position provides exposure to the operations of a corporate fitness center and allows interns to gain hands-on experience in health and wellness programming.
What you'll do#
- Provide fitness and wellness guidance to facility members.
- Perform fitness evaluations, interpret data, and prescribe cardiovascular and strength exercise programs.
- Develop and implement at least one special program or event.
- Contribute to the marketing of fitness and wellness services.
- Assist in the coordination of client site health and wellness events.
- Teach at least one group exercise class format through team teaching.
- Job shadow personal trainers and train clients under supervision.
- Assist with daily office operations and attend scheduled meetings.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior level Bachelor's or Master's student in Kinesiology, Health Administration, Public Health, or a related field.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with a diverse group of individuals.
- Ability to teach group exercise classes.
- Personal Training or Group Exercise certification is considered a plus.
