About the role#
This internship provides students with professional experience in a corporate fitness center environment. You will gain exposure to facility operations, program development, and member engagement while completing your university internship requirements.
What you'll do#
- Provide fitness and wellness guidance to facility members.
- Perform fitness evaluations, interpret test data, and prescribe cardiovascular and strength programs.
- Develop and implement at least one special program or event.
- Contribute to the marketing of fitness services through various channels.
- Assist in coordinating health and wellness events.
- Teach at least one group exercise class format.
- Shadow personal trainers and assist with day-to-day office operations.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior level Bachelor's or Master's student in Kinesiology, Health Administration, Public Health, Real Estate, or a related field.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with a diverse group of individuals.
- Ability to teach group exercise classes.
- Personal Training or Group Exercise certification is preferred.
