About the role#
Harrison Street Asset Management is seeking a Summer 2027 Asset Management Intern to join the team in Chicago. This 10-week internship provides exposure to financial analysis, cash flow modeling, investment research, and property reviews. Interns will have the opportunity to participate in property tours, receive mentorship from executive leadership, and complete individual projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the analysis of the portfolio, including monthly financial performance and budget reviews.
- Prepare quarterly investor reporting materials.
- Analyze the financial impact of capital events such as dispositions, recapitalizations, and debt refinancing.
- Evaluate leasing trends, competitive property sets, and market-level data.
- Participate in bi-weekly meetings to discuss distressed assets, upcoming sales, loan maturities, and joint venture relationships.
- Perform ad hoc financial modeling projects to support asset management reviews.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a junior in a Bachelor degree program, with a preference for Finance, Real Estate, or Business Administration concentrations.
- Core knowledge of finance and accounting principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly motivated, organized, and self-directed work style.
