About the role#
Harrison Street Asset Management is seeking a Transactions Intern for a 10-week summer program starting in early June 2027. This full-time, on-site internship in Chicago offers exposure to alternative real estate sectors including senior housing, student housing, self-storage, healthcare, and life science buildings. Interns will receive mentorship from executive leadership and participate in property tours and individual projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the preparation of Investment Committee presentations and investor pitch books.
- Analyze, prepare, and update financial models for both potential and existing transactions.
- Evaluate economic, demographic, and market information for various development areas.
- Compile and maintain databases regarding development opportunities, potential acquisitions, and deal status.
- Assist in the analysis of refinancing and derivative debt instruments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a junior in a Bachelor’s degree program, with a preference for Finance or Real Estate concentrations.
- Core knowledge of finance and accounting principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly motivated, organized, and self-directed work style.
