About the role#
HarperCollins Publishers is seeking a motivated intern to support the William Morrow Group with marketing and publicity efforts. This role offers an opportunity to learn about the publishing industry through hands-on experience, supporting our team with promotional campaigns and administrative tasks. You will work directly with our staff, participate in meetings, and have the chance to contribute your own ideas regarding book promotion.
What you'll do#
- Provide administrative support by mailing books, entering data, and routing invoices.
- Create promotional materials including press releases, sell sheets, and giveaway forms.
- Develop content and captions for social media channels.
- Assist with outreach efforts to media contacts and social media creators.
- Conduct research projects to support upcoming campaigns.
- Attend staff meetings and sessions with authors and agents to observe the publicity process.
- Suggest projects of interest to tailor your learning experience.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from an undergraduate or master’s program in Marketing, Communications, English, or Media Studies.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok.
- Ability to manage time effectively, stay organized, and handle multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in general internet research.
- A genuine interest in books, marketing, and publicity.
- A resume and cover letter are required for consideration.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site internship based in New York, New York.
- The term runs from June 7, 2027, to August 12, 2027.
- You must be available to work in the office Monday through Thursday.
