About the role#
This summer internship with the Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Gift marketing team offers experience in the book publishing process. You will work on marketing and public relations projects including digital campaigns, social media, email marketing, influencer outreach, and campaign analysis. You will contribute to efforts supporting fall book launches and holiday seasons while working alongside a collaborative team.
What you'll do#
- Implement direct-to-consumer marketing campaigns across email, social media, web, and other digital channels.
- Draft and edit marketing copy for emails, blog posts, social media, advertising, and product messaging.
- Assist in creating social media content and basic marketing assets.
- Support campaign planning for new book launches, seasonal promotions, and evergreen products.
- Research bloggers, influencers, media outlets, audience trends, and competitive titles.
- Develop media kits, press materials, and media lists for authors and book launches.
- Assist with promotional mailings and distribution of books or advance copies.
- Compile and analyze marketing data to identify insights for future campaigns.
- Attend team and cross-functional meetings to learn how Marketing, Public Relations, Sales, and Editorial work together.
- Develop a marketing campaign proposal designed to reach 18-22-year-old consumers.
- Provide general administrative support including proofreading, research, meeting notes, and spreadsheets.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate or master’s program in business, communications, English, journalism, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
- Available to work 28 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, from June 7 to August 12, 2027.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and research skills.
- Ability to work with data and translate results into marketing insights.
- Basic understanding of social media and digital marketing.
- Previous marketing, communications, retail, campus organization, or customer-facing experience is helpful.
- A basic understanding of the Christian faith is preferred.
- Experience with Canva or other graphic design tools is a plus.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- A resume and cover letter are required for consideration.
Location & details#
- Location: Nashville, Tennessee.
- Modality: Hybrid. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are mandatory in-office days at the Nashville headquarters. Mondays and Thursdays are remote workdays.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Compensation: $18 per hour.
