About the role#
Harmony United Psychiatric Care is hiring a Psychotherapist Intern for our outpatient clinic in Port Charlotte. This is a paid, full-time position that offers flexibility in scheduling as an independent contractor. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to provide mental health services to adults, adolescents, and children aged five and older. We support both in-person and virtual care models.
What you'll do#
- Conduct psychological assessments, provide diagnoses, and deliver therapeutic interventions.
- Offer various modalities of psychotherapy and counseling services.
- Work alongside psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions and strategies.
- Maintain accurate service documentation according to company policies.
What you'll need#
- A Master’s degree in mental health counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy.
- An active Florida Intern license or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Prior work experience in an outpatient setting is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Port Charlotte, Florida.
- Modality: On-site, remote, or hybrid options available.
- Schedule: Rolling start date with flexible hours. Offices are open Monday through Thursday for in-person and telehealth visits, with additional telemedicine availability Friday through Sunday. You may work up to 50 percent telemedicine from the start of your employment.
