About the role#
Halff is looking for an intern to join the Land Development team in Houston. This role focuses on design and construction observation for public and private infrastructure projects, including roadways, drainage systems, and site improvements. You will work under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer.
What you'll do#
- Design civil engineering projects.
- Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Water/Wastewater, Public Works, and Land Development projects.
- Perform drafting CAD work.
- Conduct calculations and analysis for design projects.
- Assist in the preparation of permit applications and regulatory documents.
- Coordinate with team members, including surveyors and architects.
- Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or an ABET accredited equivalent engineering degree.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships and work within a team.
- Self-motivation and organizational skills.

- Term: Summer 2027 (June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027).
- Modality: On-site.
- Status: Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: Paid internship.
