About the role#
Halff is looking for a Civil Engineer Intern to join the Water Resources team in Houston. This is a full-time, paid internship where you will work on drainage and stormwater projects. You will gain experience in hydrology, hydraulic modeling, and water resources planning while working under the guidance of a Professional Engineer.
What you'll do#
- Design civil engineering projects under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.
- Assist with drainage and stormwater analysis.
- Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Water Resources projects.
- Perform CAD drafting and design calculations.
- Help prepare permit applications and regulatory documents.
- Coordinate with team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors.
- Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering or an ABET accredited equivalent.
- Strong organization and self-motivation.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships and work well within a team.
- Experience with HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS is preferred but not required.
