About the role#
Halff is hiring a Civil Engineer Intern for the Water Resources team in Richardson, Texas. This is a full-time, paid internship running from June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027. You will work 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday from 8a to 5p.
What you'll do#
- Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer.
- Assist with drainage and stormwater analysis and design.
- Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Water Resources projects.
- Perform drafting CAD work.
- Complete calculations and analysis for design projects.
- Prepare permit applications and other regulatory documents.
- Coordinate with team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors.
- Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or an ABET accredited equivalent.
- Strong organization skills and self-motivation.
- Great communication skills.
- Solid relationship and team building skills.
- Experience with HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS is preferred.
