About the role#
STV is looking for a Civil Engineering Intern to join our team for the summer of 2027. This role provides an opportunity for students to work alongside experienced professionals on infrastructure projects. We prefer candidates who can commit to at least three months of full-time work.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design of projects from initial concept through completion.
- Help ensure all work meets regulatory standards and project specifications.
- Collaborate with architects, environmental engineers, and other project stakeholders.
- Interface with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to resolve project issues.
- Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and risk assessments.
- Prepare technical reports, narratives, and development applications.
- Use software like AutoCAD and Civil 3D to contribute to engineering designs.
- Support the preparation of technical proposals and project documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Civil Engineering at an ABET-accredited university or NCEES equivalent.
- Familiarity with design software such as MicroStation, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, or Open Roads Designer.
- Previous experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction management industry.

- This position is based in Louisville, Kentucky.
- The role operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring at least three days per week in the office.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
