About the role#
The Guggenheim Securities Investment Banking team in Houston is seeking candidates for a 10-week Summer Associate program. This role focuses on the Energy, Power, and Energy Transition sectors. Interns join deal teams to work on strategic advisory and financing transactions. You will have direct exposure to senior bankers and clients while working in a lean team structure.
What you'll do#
- Identify, research, and analyze M&A and financing opportunities.
- Build and maintain complex financial models.
- Complete and review valuation analysis.
- Research industry trends and company information.
- Perform client due diligence.
- Prepare information memoranda and transaction documentation.
- Contribute to client presentations and interact with senior bankers, lawyers, and accountants.
- Manage and develop junior staff.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an MBA program for finance, economics, or a related field at a top university, with a graduation date of December 2027 or Spring 2028.
- 2-5 years of prior work experience.
- Experience with financial modeling and valuation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated interest in the energy, power, or energy transition sectors.
- Interest in working in Houston long term.
