About the role#
The Industrials Investment Banking team in Los Angeles is looking for Summer Associates to join their group for 2027. This team focuses on sectors including Aerospace and Defense. You will work within small client teams to assist with M&A advisory and capital raising projects. Throughout the summer, you will gain experience in financial analysis, process management, and professional communication through formal and hands-on training.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and deliver client presentations while interacting with senior bankers, clients, lawyers, and accountants.
- Design and develop complex financial models and valuation analyses.
- Draft internal and client-facing documents such as management presentations, pitchbooks, and fairness opinions.
- Perform client due diligence and prepare information memoranda or other transaction-related documentation.
- Create strategic frameworks and tools to support business development.
- Conduct competitive research to identify industry trends and formulate recommendations for senior leadership.
What you'll need#
- You must be on track to receive an MBA or J.D. degree in Spring 2028.
- Prior internship experience in investment banking, accounting, consulting, private equity, hedge fund, or corporate finance is a plus.
- Familiarity with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
- A high level of maturity to interface with company executives and senior management.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time summer internship based in Los Angeles, California.
- The role is expected to be on-site in the Los Angeles office at least 4 days per week.
- The salary is based on an annual rate of $175,000 per year.
