About the role#
The Capital Structure Advisory Group provides guidance to companies, creditors, and investors navigating complex financial situations. This includes work on balance sheet recapitalizations, liability management, chapter 11 restructurings, distressed financings, and distressed M&A. As a Summer Associate, you will work in small teams on strategic assignments and gain exposure to senior bankers and client representatives.
What you'll do#
- Identify, research, and analyze liability management, restructuring, distressed M&A, and financing opportunities.
- Evaluate and develop capital structure solutions and strategic alternatives for clients.
- Develop, maintain, and review complex financial models and valuation analysis.
- Perform client due diligence.
- Prepare information memoranda and other transaction-related documentation.
- Contribute to client presentations and support deal teams in building financial models.
- Manage and develop junior resources.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an MBA or J.D. program with an expected graduation in Spring 2028.
- 2-5 years of prior work experience.
- Core modeling and valuation experience.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Maturity and the ability to work with company executives and senior management.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.

- Compensation: The position pays an annual base salary rate of $175,000. This role is full-time.
