About the role#
This 10-week summer internship program is based in Chicago. It offers students a look into investment banking with a focus on M&A advisory. You will join a team that provides advisory services to private equity firms and corporate clients, specifically within software, commercial, business, and technology services. Interns act as junior associates on deal teams, working alongside senior bankers and client representatives.
What you'll do#
- Support deal teams by developing, maintaining, and using financial models.
- Perform financial and valuation analysis, including discounted cash flow and multiple valuation analysis.
- Prepare client presentations and interact with senior bankers, clients, lawyers, and accountants.
- Research companies and industries to understand sector trends, client challenges, and strategies.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of M&A deal processes.
What you'll need#
- You must be on track to receive an MBA or J.D. degree in Spring 2028.
- A commitment to meet the demands of high-volume and high-end client services.
- Effective verbal, written, and virtual communication skills.
- A strong interest in problem solving and client services.
- A desire to join a growing, entrepreneurial platform.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- The ability to work under pressure as part of a small team.
