About the role#
Join Sunrise FS as a GROWMARK Agronomy Intern for the Summer of 2027. You will gain hands-on experience supporting agronomy operations and serving farmer-member customers. This role includes participating in the GROWMARK Internship Program, which features professional development, networking, and a capstone project.
What you'll do#
- Support agronomy operations and assist professionals with customer service.
- Learn about crop production, crop protection, plant nutrition, and agronomic recommendations.
- Conduct field scouting, monitor crop health, and collect field data.
- Assist with agronomy trials, plot work, field demonstrations, and research projects.
- Utilize precision agriculture tools and technology.
- Help with product inventory, ordering, and receiving.
- Participate in customer visits, grower events, and educational opportunities.
- Travel to FS locations to build relationships with employees and partners.
- Follow safety, stewardship, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Complete and present a summer internship project.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree or certification in agriculture from a community college, technical college, or university.
- Good academic standing.
- Interest in agronomy and crop production.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Comfort working in varying weather conditions and at elevated heights.
- Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to travel, including occasional overnight trips.

- Location: Kilbourne, Illinois.
- Term: Summer 2027 (minimum 12 weeks).
- Modality: On-site, full-time.
- Compensation: Paid internship ($19.00 - $22.00 per hour).
- Participation in all GROWMARK Internship Program meetings and events is required.
