About the role#
Join Prairieland FS as an Agronomy Intern for the Summer of 2027. This full-time, paid position offers hands-on experience in crop production and customer service. You will participate in the GROWMARK Internship Program, which includes professional development, mentorship, and a capstone project. You must be available for a minimum of 12 weeks starting by May 24, 2027, and attend three specific internship meetings throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Support agronomy operations and help professionals serve farmer-member customers.
- Monitor crop health and conduct field scouting activities.
- Collect field data to assist with agronomy trials, plot work, and field demonstrations.
- Use precision agriculture tools and technology for data collection.
- Manage product inventory, including ordering and receiving tasks.
- Participate in customer visits, grower events, and professional networking opportunities.
- Travel to various locations to work with employees and industry partners.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Agronomy, Agribusiness, Crop and Soil Science, or related degree program.
- Good academic standing.
- A valid driver's license.
- Physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Comfort working in varying weather conditions and at various heights.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
