About the role#
This paid internship offers a path to permanent employment within the Alberta energy sector. As part of the TRACKS program, you will receive on-the-job training, mentorship, and support to build a long-term career as a heavy equipment operator. The program provides a dedicated coordinator to assist with logistics such as safety tickets, equipment, and other barriers to employment.
What you'll do#
- Operate heavy equipment including hydrovac, vacuum, and water trucks.
- Support bulk hauling and the transport of fluids, sand, and equipment.
- Participate in fracturing operations on active well sites.
- Provide support for well servicing and maintenance.
- Engage in mentorship and training to transition into a permanent operator role.
What you'll need#
- You are an Indigenous applicant.
- You have a genuine interest in a long-term career operating equipment in the energy sector.
- You are ready to show up, learn, and grow on the job.
- A Class 1 or Class 3 licence is considered a preferred asset, but applicants without one are encouraged to apply if they are serious about this career path.
