About the role#
The Indigenous Operator Internship is a paid program designed to help Indigenous workers enter and succeed in Alberta's energy sector. This full-time internship offers a pathway to permanent employment, providing mentorship, on-the-job training, and support to ensure long-term career growth. The program is specifically designed to support Indigenous applicants across Alberta.
What you'll do#
Interns will gain hands-on experience in the energy services sector. Responsibilities include:
- Operating heavy equipment, including hydrovac trucks.
- Transporting fluids, water, sand, and equipment to and from active work sites.
- Supporting well servicing and maintenance operations.
- Participating in vacuum and water truck operations on active sites.
- Assisting with fracturing and other equipment-based operations.
What you'll need#
- Open to Indigenous applicants residing in Alberta.
- A strong desire to build a long-term career in the energy sector.
- A Class 1 or Class 3 licence is considered an asset, but it is not required to begin the program.
- Entry-level candidates are welcome, as comprehensive on-the-job training is provided.
