About the role#
As a Human Resource Governance Student, you will support the Human Resources Governance team in maintaining compliance with legislation, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements. You will work from our home office to gain experience in policy development, data analysis, and program support. This role involves collaborating with HR business partners and legal teams to ensure governance alignment and provide guidance on policy interpretation.
What you'll do#
- Conduct data analytics and prepare reports on HR governance metrics and program performance.
- Assist in reviewing, updating, and documenting HR policies, procedures, and compliance programs.
- Support HR initiatives including the employee handbook, the workplace violence and harassment program, and annual compliance programs.
- Contribute to process improvement projects, such as SharePoint updates and parking administration.
- Maintain accurate records of governance activities, policy changes, and compliance documentation.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Law, or a related field.
- Completion of at least one year of post-secondary education and returning to school.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and prepare clear reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- An inquisitive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Interest in conducting research and policy development is an asset.

- Employment: Full time, paid co-op position.
- Compensation: Weekly salary is $795 for a 1st term, $875 for a 2nd term, and $960 for 3rd and additional terms.
