About the role#
We are looking for a student intern to support our legal team in Calgary. This role covers a range of legal functions including corporate, securities, finance, litigation, employment, and supply chain matters. You will work alongside legal professionals on regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and financing projects. The position runs from May 2027 through August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Research and draft legal memoranda on topics such as corporate law, securities, warranties, liabilities, and indemnities.
- Assist with corporate governance items and review corporate policies.
- Prepare materials for the board of directors and its committees.
- Help draft documents and prepare due diligence materials for financings.
- Support counsel in litigation and contract interpretation through document review and legal research.
- Carry out other legal tasks as required.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited Canadian JD or LLB program.
- Completion of at least two years of law school by May 2027.
- Completion of at least one legal research course.
- Commitment to return to full-time studies after the work term.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer.
- Strong research skills, attention to detail, and a self-motivated approach.
- Ability to analyze information and manage changing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment.
- A safety mindset and commitment to our corporate values.
