    About the role#

    Greenheck Group is hiring a Packaging Engineer Co-op for the Winter and Summer 2027 terms. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Schofield, Wisconsin. You will work with various departments to design and improve packaging solutions for industrial HVAC equipment.

    What you'll do#

    • Support the design and development of packaging solutions like crates, skids, and foam components.
    • Create and update packaging drawings, specifications, and documentation.
    • Build, coordinate, and evaluate prototypes and packaging tests with suppliers.
    • Research packaging materials and industry trends to improve cost, sustainability, and manufacturability.
    • Analyze freight damage and claims data to identify recurring issues.
    • Help standardize packaging designs across product lines.
    • Support production teams by troubleshooting packaging issues.
    • Explore returnable and reusable packaging solutions.
    • Use approved AI and automation tools for analysis and design workflows.
    • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Product Engineering, Logistics, Quality, and Purchasing departments.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a related bachelor’s degree program, with graduation expected within the next 3 semesters.
    • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
    • Experience with basic hand tools and comfort working with physical prototypes.
    • Proficiency in Excel and working with data.
    • Interest in hands-on learning.
    • Experience with 3D modeling software is a plus.
    • Coursework or experience with packaging materials or testing methods like ISTA or ASTM is a plus.
    • Experience using AI tools in projects is a plus.

    • Location: Schofield, Wisconsin.
    • Term: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: $22.00 to $28.00 per hour, depending on academic year.
    • Benefits: Paid time off for company-observed holidays, plus a housing allowance or sign-on bonus.
