About the role#
This internship focuses on the administration of accident prevention programs and regulatory compliance within our Utah region. You will assist in maintaining safety standards across various construction sites and support the documentation of safety-related activities. This is a full-time, paid position that requires on-site work and frequent travel.
What you'll do#
- Promote compliance with the company safety program and local accident prevention efforts.
- Perform and document jobsite inspections and audits to identify hazards and unsafe behaviors.
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety programs.
- Prepare and lead safety meetings and training sessions.
- Support the development and review of job hazard analysis for major work phases.
- Participate in regulatory agency inspections and investigations.
- Maintain records for third-party, asset loss, and workers compensation claims.
- Coordinate with the corporate insurance department to ensure timely claim resolution.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program, specifically in Safety or Occupational Health.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to teach, mentor, and lead others.
- Capacity to work in a high production environment and handle pressure.
- Willingness to travel frequently.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including climbing stairs or ladders and lifting up to 50 pounds.
