About the role#
As an Environmental Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting environmental compliance, sustainability, and regulatory programs in a manufacturing environment. You will work alongside experienced professionals to contribute to projects, build knowledge of regulations, and practice data analysis. This position offers exposure to wastewater, air, and stormwater compliance requirements.
What you'll do#
- Review procedures, training materials, and compliance documentation.
- Assist with environmental assessments and identify opportunities for improvement at plant locations.
- Participate in incident investigations and support corrective action efforts.
- Collect, analyze, and report environmental performance data and monthly metrics.
- Maintain environmental records and support compliance through accurate documentation.
- Attend meetings with engineering and environmental teams to learn how standards apply to operations.
- Help develop environmental standard operating procedures and training materials.
- Participate in safety and committee meetings to support departmental goals.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Junior or Senior standing at an accredited college or university.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- An interest in environmental compliance, sustainability, and regulatory programs.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
