About the role#
This Engineer Co-op program provides hands-on experience in technical and leadership responsibilities within our production facilities. You will work in a team-oriented manufacturing environment, gaining exposure to both technical projects and people management. This program is designed to help you explore career paths and develop skills for future roles.
What you'll do#
- Lead production or maintenance teams, project groups, and contractors.
- Supervise operators, participate in production meetings, and optimize processes.
- Manage refrigeration, steam, freshwater, and wastewater treatment systems.
- Handle business case development, vendor selection, budget management, and project management.
- Improve processes to minimize downtime and lead maintenance planning activities.
- Design and upgrade systems while updating plant drawings.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemical, BioChemical, Mechanical, Biosystems, Agricultural, Electrical, Industrial, or Environmental Engineering, or Packaging.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and May 2030.
- Ability to complete a 7-8 month co-op from January to August 2027.
- Right to work in the U.S. without reliance on a student visa or third-party sponsorship.
- Geographic flexibility and willingness to relocate anywhere in the U.S.
- Initiative, resourcefulness, and the ability to work with limited guidance.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proven ability to solve problems and make decisions independently.
- Previous plant, production, or internship experience is preferred.
- A 2.7 GPA or higher is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time, on-site co-op position.
- Locations include Minneapolis, MN; Blair, NE; Kansas City, MO; Sioux City, IA; Fayetteville, NC; and Wichita, KS.
- The role involves physical activity, including bending, stooping, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
- You may be exposed to varying temperatures and industrial conditions.
