About the role#
As a Continuous Improvement Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting operational excellence initiatives. You will work alongside manufacturing and engineering professionals in both office and production environments. This role involves contributing to facility-wide improvements and leading a unique project to analyze data and implement solutions.
What you'll do#
- Support continuous improvement efforts by mapping processes and updating Standard Work procedures.
- Participate in Managing for Daily Improvement meetings to share ideas.
- Lead a cross-functional improvement project, including data gathering, analysis, and implementation.
- Conduct research and prepare presentations or reports to support team objectives.
- Collaborate with departments like maintenance to find solutions.
- Serve as a visible and accessible resource for employees on the manufacturing floor.
- Travel to additional plants as needed to support production efforts.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior status in a bachelor's degree program, preferably in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or Process Engineering.
- The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and use sound judgment to reach conclusions.
- Demonstrated leadership through campus organizations, volunteer work, or off-campus employment.
- Strong communication skills to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the organization.
