About the role#
As an Engineering Intern at Grande Cheese Company, you will work alongside engineers to support capital projects, facility improvements, and operational initiatives. You will gain hands-on experience in the planning, design, installation, and commissioning phases of projects within cheese and whey production environments.
What you'll do#
- Participate in or lead capital projects related to facilities, building operations, or continuous improvement.
- Develop specification documents to support project requirements.
- Gather equipment information and requisition necessary supplies.
- Coordinate with contractors, equipment suppliers, and internal teams.
- Document equipment installations and update plant layout drawings.
- Assist project engineers with reporting and documentation.
- Collaborate across departments to support maintenance and operational needs.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting for issues within the plant.
- Deliver presentations to corporate partners and plant leadership.
- Lead and participate in meetings to support project execution.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior status pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or a related Engineering field.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, and use sound judgment to reach conclusions.
- Demonstrated leadership through campus organizations or volunteer work.
- Experience in off-campus employment.
- Ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the organization.
