About the role#
Grande Cheese Company is seeking a student for a full-time summer internship in 2027. This role provides hands-on experience in workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional collaboration within a food and beverage manufacturing environment. You will gain practical knowledge by participating in safety initiatives, assessments, and investigations to support the safety culture of the organization.
What you'll do#
- Review and update safety procedures and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) documentation.
- Assist with incident investigations by gathering information and tracking corrective actions.
- Participate in plant safety assessments to identify hazards and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with Engineering teams to review new equipment and ensure safety requirements are met.
- Attend safety committee and department meetings.
- Track and update monthly safety metrics to monitor performance and trends.
- Support various Safety Department projects related to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior status pursuing a bachelor's degree in Occupational and Environmental Safety and Health, Environmental Engineering, Health Administration, Public Health, Biology, or related fields.
- Proficiency with MS Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Effective analytical and communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of statistics.
- Participative involvement in campus organizations or off-campus employment is preferred.
