About the role#
This internship provides hands-on management experience at Aerie Restaurant and Lounge. You will work alongside the Restaurant Manager to oversee daily operations, plan private events, and develop leadership skills in a high-volume setting. The role runs from May through November 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support daily restaurant floor activities and monitor service levels.
- Collaborate with event planners and patrons to execute private events.
- Supervise and train staff to maintain morale and service standards.
- Ensure beverage service is prompt and compliant with state laws.
- Handle opening and closing procedures and maintain sanitation standards.
- Monitor guest feedback and submit required reports and paperwork.
- Operate the MICROS computer system.
- Attend bi-weekly intern meetings and complete specific internship projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university, college, or community college with the ability to receive academic credit.
- At least 6 months of experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service, cost control, and sales techniques.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, motivated attitude.
- Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively under pressure.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, stoop, bend, and carry items weighing over 30 pounds.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
