About the role#
This is a 12-week paid internship program for Summer 2027 based at our Home Office. You will work within the Food Safety and Quality Assurance department to gain hands-on experience in the food distribution industry. This position is full-time and requires you to work on-site.
What you'll do#
- Observe DC receivers, selectors, and packers to review real-time food safety controls.
- Compare current SOPs, WIs, and policies against actual practices.
- Flag unofficial workarounds, outdated procedures, and unnecessary operational friction.
- Evaluate safety risks and recommend policy updates or staff retraining.
- Build a Policy vs. Practice Gap Analysis Matrix for QA leadership review.
- Create visual job aids, digital quizzes, and short video storyboards from complex SOPs.
- Engage in our mentorship program and shadow jobs across the organization.
- Participate in community and stewardship efforts.
- Develop personal and professional skills through workshops.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Agriculture, Public Health, Environmental Health, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Authorization to work in the US.
