About the role#
This is a full-time Mechanical Engineering Co-Op position for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on-site in Henrietta, New York, assisting our Product Development team with the creation, testing, and maintenance of material handling products. This role is paid and focuses on applying engineering principles to real-world business and technical requirements.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers in the conceptualization and development of new and existing product designs.
- Create and maintain CAD solid models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using SolidWorks.
- Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) with SolidWorks Simulation.
- Execute Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
- Develop and maintain product Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routings in our ERP software.
- Participate in functional and accelerated life tests to ensure product reliability.
- Support internal and external customers with product application and usage.
- Help vendors with sub-component fabrication and provide documentation for quoting and sourcing materials.
- Adhere to project timelines, budgets, and established design methodologies.
- Serve as a technical resource for other departments and participate on company teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year Mechanical Engineering degree program.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A detail-oriented approach with the ability to solve problems and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with the following is desired: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, GD&T, FEA, and Microsoft Office.
