About the role#
This is a full-time Mechanical Engineer Co-Op position based in Iron Mountain, Michigan. You will work with the BOSS Snowplow division from January 2027 through August 2027. This role is paid and requires on-site attendance.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the design, prototyping, and development of new products and improvements to existing ones.
- Conduct tests, collect data, and analyze results for new or existing products.
- Design test fixtures as needed.
- Help solve problems within the Product Development Lab.
- Partner with operations engineers to improve product quality and reduce costs.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with 3D CAD software, specifically Creo Parametric if possible.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes like welding, metal cutting, forming, painting, and assembly.
- Understanding of Engineering Mechanics, Strength of Materials, and Lean Manufacturing.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills to manage projects and gather information.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Creo.
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills are preferred, as is a basic understanding of hydraulic systems.
Location & details#
- Location: Iron Mountain, MI.
- Terms: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
- Pay: $22.00 to $28.00 per hour, depending on your level of college completion.
- Work environment: Casual dress policy.
