About the role#
Dematic is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern or Co-Op to support various mechanical engineering projects. This role provides an opportunity to learn about our internal processes and support customer projects across the organization.
What you'll do#
- Support modernization and upgrades for existing material handling systems.
- Perform site audits to gather necessary project data.
- Assist with the installation of mechanical upgrades.
- Create detailed layouts and documentation for modernization scopes.
- Manage purchase requests and parts order entry.
- Ensure new equipment meets project specifications.
- Provide technical support to estimating, sales, engineering, and field operations teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year Mechanical Engineering degree program.
- Familiarity with CAD design software, specifically AutoCAD.
- Ability to learn the maintenance and repair of material handling systems.
- Proficiency with general computer systems and technologies.
- Skill in solving complex design issues and finding cost-efficient solutions.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to work within a team.

- Locations: Grand Rapids, Michigan or Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Rolling.
- Compensation: $20.00 to $29.00 per hour.
